St. Jude Children Research Hospital
Quote
St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.
All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay.

The Purpose:
We provide financial assistance to children with disabilities who are unable to afford equipment and/or services that they need; insurance companies consider many of these items a luxury. National Organization Caring for Kids
Quote
NOCK, the National Organization Caring for Kids, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with disabilities and special needs through the use of assistive technology.

For families with special needs children, the circumstances of caring for these children can be unexpected and overwhelming. Many families do not have the resources they need to provide the level of care that their children need. All too often, special needs kids do not receive medically prescribed equipment, such as wheelchairs or communication devices, due to economic barriers.

A ton of thanks to NOCK for their dedication in helping special needs children.

I found the following article interesting.  It goes over how a parent can help a student with a learning disability succeed.

Life Success For Students With Learning Disabilities: A Parent's Guide
Quote
LD OnLine is proud to present a guide to parents on how to help their children succeed titled Life Success for Students with Learning Disabilities: A Parent's Guide. It was developed by the Frostig Center and based on more than twenty years of ground-breaking research on the lives of children and adults with learning disabilities. As a follow up to the learning disabilities site in the last post, the same site has an online Q & A section that allows for questions to be submitted to: a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Special Education Lawyer, and an Educational Technology Expert.
