What do you do if you do not have enough credits to get SSD and they won't even allow you to complete an application due to saying you have too much property?

Hello dhuff and welcome.

Did you apply in person or online?  Here is the online application site: http://www.ssa.gov/applyfordisability/adult.htm  I check the application link and it's down at the moment.

One of the first requirements to receive SSDI is that you have had to work at jobs covered by Social Security.  Have you worked at any jobs covered by SS?

Also I have never heard of anyone being turned down in applying due to owning too much property.

Maybe you could give me a little more info.

Age
State you live in
What type of disability.

You can either post that info or PM me.

There is always the option to hire a lawyer such as Binder and Binder to represent you.  They're a pretty good firm from what I've heard.

This blog is from a past claim rep (I believe that's how it's termed).  He has great info on his blog.

I am 53
I live in Ohio
I have Panic/Anxiety disorder in past which turned into hypertension, migraines, and Bleeding ulcers and Fibromyalgia. I had worked up until 1998. I appled for SSD in 2003, was turned down. I went back to work in 2005 until my Dr, took me off work June 2008, all my jobs I paid into the System. I seen an atty but barely got to sit down, said since I went back to work I didn't qualify for SSD, I can't complete an application for SSI online in my state. I had a telephone interview and she would not let me apply for either SSD or SSI, I own 25 acres that I cash rent out for $2500.00 per year, that's just a little over $100 per month. I am married but we are barely making it. I qualified for EBT but JFS won't help me any further  unless I sell the land. My home, which is a manufactured home, sits right in the middle of this property. ANy suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You really need to get to a social security office and apply for disability.  A telephone interviewer doesn't have the right to refuse you from applying if your doctor has pronounced you physically disabled.  If you apply and are turned down then it'll be necessary to appeal the judgment.  A disability attorney (one that'll only collect their fee once you win the claim) is a very good idea.

If your doctor says that you are disabled then you have every right to apply.  No if and or buts about it.  Don't wait, the process takes time.  Do it now.
